Message from Vice Provost

April 30, 2020

Dear UO Students,

As many of you now know, the University of Oregon intends to open the campus to in-person instruction in the fall. We are actively working out the logistics and planning accordingly to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our community – students, faculty, staff, and the greater Eugene-Springfield area – is taken into consideration.

As we work to restructure our class offerings in the fall, our aim is to continue offering a high-quality, rich learning experience. To accomplish that, we will need to revise the fall course schedule and change the registration deadline for students. Originally, the schedule was to be released on May 1 with a May 18 registration deadline. We are postponing both the schedule release date and the registration deadline until we finish our planning.

This move is designed to allow enough time to make sure the places where students gather for their classes are set up properly, taking into account class sizes, social distancing, and other factors. We will provide you with the new dates for both course schedules and the registration deadline as soon as they become available. We fully expect the process to run smoothly once we finish our planning. If you have any questions or concerns about your prospective schedule, please contact your advisor.

As always, our goal is to make sure that all students are safely positioned to be successful in their academic journey. We plan to make that happen as we do every term at the University of Oregon. Please take care and stay healthy.
