SAIL, the UO pre-college program first launched in 2005, has changed its name to the "Student Academy to Inspire Learning" to reflect the program's increasing shift to year-round programming. The change will allow the program to keep its popular acronym, which is well-known at middle and high schools around the state of Oregon.

During the academic year, SAIL serves thousands of middle and high school students with free pre-college mentoring and pre-college events on campus. For its free two-week summer program, SAIL typically host over 500 students. Approximately 97 percent of SAIL program graduates go on to pursue higher education, including 43 students who started at UO this fall.
